Model One by RIA Eyewear is our founding style of sunglasses built to give uncompromised vision and protection on the tennis and pickleball court with a seamless, one-piece lens, housed in our patented Italian frame design. This pair features our newest lens, Transition HD+, a photochromic lens that adjusts tint intensity according to the amount of UV light in the environment, changing from transparent amber to dark brown and featuring a silver mirror for anti-glare. Whether you're playing in bright sun, overcast conditions, or inside under lights, this lens has you covered for it all.

We offer free shipping (US-only) on orders over $100, and have a 30-day return policy. We encourage you to try your eyewear on the court, not just at home. If they aren't quite for you, we pay for the return label.

All shipments are sent from San Diego, California. Orders ship between Monday and Friday, excluding federal holidays.

Standard Mail: Orders will be delivered 4-6 business days from the ship date. Please note, the 24 hour order processing time is not included in this estimated shipping delivery window and USPS does not guarantee delivery times.

We currently do not, as prescription is hard to put into a shield style frame without adding an insert, which would compromise our frame design.

Our racquet-sport lenses are not polarized as polarized lenses block horizontal glare - while this is useful for everyday wear, it can have a negative effect on your depth perception on the court. When you need to see the ball clearly to time your swing, a polarized lens will be an impediment. Regardless, all of our lenses are still 100% UVA/B protective.

Functional and Beautiful!
I was introduced to Ría by another Pickleball player and I’m so glad I took her advice. Light weight and comfortable. I love that I was able to customize the classic white with navy and coral nose piece as well as a coral arm sleeve. The glasses stay in place during active play but are not too tight at the temples. So comfortable I don’t even take them off between matches. Can’t wait for the weather to change so I can enjoy outdoor play with the transitional lens without glare. Worth the price!

I forgot that I was wearing glasses
Extremely lightweight and stayed put while playing. Forgot I was wearing them. Funny thing: I kept them in my bag while playing the side of the court with my back to the sun. One time, a little of sliver of light made it through and caused a transition in a narrow band of the lens. Now, I keep them in the sun while on that side of the court. No complaints. And, I should note, I've been playing sports of all sorts for over 50 years, and I have never, ever, been able to wear glasses while doing so. The RIA glasses are game changers for me.

Good fit
I got the Model One Transition. For my small face, it fit good. I really couldn’t tell the difference for the transition though. I wore it on cloudy days and on days when the sun came out albeit briefly. The lens worked fine but I didn’t feel the transition was that dramatic.
