Staying the Course

We hope everyone is safe and healthy during this trying time.
Like many other small businesses, our production came to a halt due to COVID-19. We craft our lenses and frames just outside of Milan, Italy, and make our apparel in New York City, and, as you can imagine, the teams that we work with have been really hurting since the shutdown. They are just beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of reopening, and we are supporting them by remaining steadfast in our commitment to fully launch our company later this year. However, with our eyewear on hold, we felt that we could still do something to launch our brand and be a part of the COVID-19 solution.
In an effort to support COVID-19 relief, we launched our signature headbands and hats (available in our apparel section) in early April, with 10% of all sales going to sourcing and producing personal protective equipment (PPE). During the month of April we committed this portion of sales to A Million Masks for NYC, a fundraiser using 100% of contributions and its social network to get healthcare workers in our hard-hit city the protective equipment they need to save lives and avoid the inherent personal health risks themselves. Recently, we were excited that our New York-based apparel facility got the greenlight by FEMA to make masks and gowns, so, as of May 1, 10% of sales will go directly to manufacturing these crucial items to be sent to frontline workers.
It will still be some time before we are back together on the courts, fields, and everywhere else we play sports - it’s just a fact. But right now we need to show our resilience, do what we can to be a part of the solution, and smile knowing that someday soon we will be back out there training, competing, laughing, loving, and feeling the incredible healing power of sports – together.
Until then, stay home and stay safe!
